Police officers in Khwisero, Kakamega County, on Thursday arrested four suspects in possession of weapons.

The officers, while on patrol during the Kisa East Ward by-election, intercepted a white Toyota Hilux in the Munjiti area and discovered a cache of weapons including stones and clubs.

The suspects were immediately arrested and escorted to the police station, where they were placed in custody pending processing and arraignment in court.

This follows the arrest of 16 suspects who reportedly attacked Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma during by-election exercise in Kasipul Constituency on Thursday.

“The National Police Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order across the country,” the National Police Service (NPS) in a statement.
