Kisii MCA accused of assaulting assistant chief freed on Ksh.30,000 cash bail

Riana ward MCA Vincent Ariemba Moisabi has been released on a cash bail of Ksh.30,000 or a bond of Ksh.50,000 with surety of a similar amount over an alleged offence of assault.

Moisabi is alleged to have assaulted Assistant Chief Zebedeo Onditi on May 4, 2021 at Bonchari constituency.

The accused – who was represented by counsels Edward Begi, Wilkins Ochoki and Kerosi Ondieki – pleaded not guilty before Chief Magistrate Nathan Shiundu.

Lead counsel Edward Begi argued that the member of the Kisii County Assembly is a public figure hence should be granted bond in order to continue serving the public.

The case will be mentioned on May 13, 2021.
