Speaking to Citizen Digital, head coach Daniel Minjis expressed confidence in his team’s chances, citing their earlier victory against Vihiga as a foundation for another strong performance.
“We started the season slowly, but we want to wrap it up with a win against Vihiga. We beat them in our first encounter, and we’re looking to build on that momentum and secure maximum points,” said Minjis.
He noted that the team used last weekend's FKF Cup break to sharpen their skills and address key weaknesses. While Kisped were inactive, their upcoming opponents were engaged in the FKF Cup round 16, a break that Minjis believes gave his side a valuable edge.
“We used the FKF Cup break to correct our mistakes. We’re now better prepared for the final league matches. It’s been a tough league, but we’ve learned a lot. At one point, we were facing the threat of relegation, but now we’re in a better position and could finish as high as seventh,” he added.
All final-day FKF WPL matches are scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 PM. Vihiga Queens will host Kisped Queens at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. Elsewhere, Trinity will face Kenya Police at Afraha Stadium, Bunyore Starlets take on Bungoma Queens at Mumboha Grounds, Uliza meet Kisumu All Starlets, and Kibera Soccer Women square off against Mombasa Olympics.
