KPA, Dumas resume action at KBF league

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) head coach Sammy Kiki is optimistic of getting positive results over the weekend when they resume the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) premier league after a month break.

The Dockers will be meeting Strathmore’s Blades on Saturday before tackling University of Nairobi’s Terror on Sunday at Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi.

“They are not going to be easy games especially after staying over a month since we played our last league match, nevertheless we are preparing well for the two games. I know they will come strong on us but we are equally getting prepared for them and if the players stick to what we are practicing then we shall be able to overcome our opponents easily over the weekend,” Kiki said.

KPA have won the two matches they have played in the league this season and thus have accumulated four points.

Elsewhere, Equity Dumas head coach Zadock Adika is adamant his side will continue with the imperious form they displayed at the inter-bank competition as they also resume the league after a two-week break.

The bankers will be meeting the Ulinzi Warriors on Friday evening before facing Eldonets Platinum on Sunday at the Nyayo Gymnasium.

The Bankers have played four matches, winning two and losing two.

“We are well prepared. We had an inter-bank tournament and that’s why we had a two-week break and we performed very well and emerged as the overall winners. The team has been preparing quite well, we have been able to check how they are playing, we have adjusted where necessary and we should be able to give a good performance on Friday and Sunday,” Adika said.
