Heavy police deployment was witnessed across Nairobi and other parts of the country on Wednesday morning as Kenyans prepared to mark the first anniversary of the deadly anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.

Key access roads to Nairobi’s central business district were sealed off early in the morning and commuters were forced to alight at designated drop-off points.

Additionally, all roads leading to the State House were barricaded with razor wire, and Parliament buildings were fortified.
