Majority of Kenyans believe Raila will rejoin opposition to contest for 2027 presidency: TIFA poll

As Raila’s 2027 remains uncertain since he joined hands with President William Ruto to form the broad-based government, majority of Kenyans believe the former Prime Minister will be in the ballot come 2027 elections.
In the TIFA poll released on Wednesday, 28% of those interviewed believe that Raila will rejoin the opposition and contest the presidency himself.
23% expect him to support President William Ruto’s re-election bid while 18% think he will back another opposition candidate. 14% predict his retirement from active politics as 16% of Kenyans remain unsure of his political plans.
Raila’s decision is seen as on that could significantly shape Kenya’s political landscape in the coming years especially those leading to the 2027 elections.
On the other hand, the TIFA survey shows divided opinions about the Broad-based government.
A majority of Kenyans (54%) are against the broad-based government agreement, whereas 22% support it and 25% others have no opinion about it.
