Man arrested in possession of drugs worth Ksh.32,500 in Siaya

Police officers from Bondo Police Station have arrested a man suspected of transporting narcotic drugs along the Bondo-Ratiya Road in Siaya County.
According to the National Police Service, the officers conducted an operation which led them to intercept a motorcycle carrying a consignment of narcotic drugs in Bondo.
The rider was apprehended while a pillion passenger fled on foot. The officers conducted a search and discovered 65 brooms of drugs suspected to be cannabis sativa estimated to cost Ksh.32,500 at street value.
The recovered drugs were concealed in a metallic box and two bags.
“The suspect is currently in police custody, processing and arraignment in court, while the exhibits have been secured at the station,” NPS stated.
