Man ‘circumcises himself’ in Tharaka Nithi

A 40-year-old man from Tharaka Nithi County was rushed to hospital after reportedly ‘circumcising’ himself.

Kathenya Riungu from Ntulili area in Maara sub county had to be taken to hospital after he was found bleeding profusely.

According to a neighbour who sought anonymity, Riungu’s wife discovered him at their house and raised the alarm.

Men from the village arrived at the scene and rushed him to get medical assistance at Chuka County Referral Hospital.

The wife hinted to them that her husband was not circumcised and had planned to look for someone to do it.

However, it would seem, according to her, that he decided to do it before he could be assisted.
