Man dies after bee attack in Homa Bay

An 85-year-old man has died while three members of his family sustained injuries after a swarm of bees attacked them at Magare village, in Homa Bay Town.
The
deceased, identified as Mzee James Olwal Obongo, succumbed to injuries after
the bees attacked him Saturday evening.
According to the area assistant Chief Washington Kidew, the senior citizen was on his way back home from a church event within their village, but accidentally, a swarm of bees emerged from the bush and attacked him, killing him on the spot.
Kidew says that his family members, including his wife Siprosa Anyango, his son Kennedy Omondi and his grandson, sustained injuries during the attack.
The administrator states that the three rushed to rescue Mzee Obongo from the attack, but unfortunately, the bees took revenge on them, leaving them with serious injuries.
They were rescued by the members of the public and rushed to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they were treated and discharged.
The body of the deceased has been preserved at Homa Bay mortuary
