Man killed for stealing chicken in Machakos

A suspected chicken thief was on Friday lynched by an enraged mob in Matuu, Machakos County.

The suspect, a recently convicted and subsequently released offender, reportedly stole two hens and concealed them in a sack.

He was however apprehended by area residents while en route to sell them in Matuu town.

The suspect was forced by the infuriated locals to reveal the location of the theft but before he could do so he was subjected to mob justice, subsequently dying as a result.

His body has since been moved to Matuu Level IV Hospital morgue for storage as investigations into the incident continue.
