The Manu Chandaria Foundation has partnered with the Administration Police Service (APS) to support officers living with disabilities through the donation of assistive equipment.

Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, Gilbert Masengeli, CBS, OGW, SS, received 20 wheelchairs from the foundation during a handover ceremony held in Nairobi. The donation is intended to improve mobility and working conditions for officers affected by physical disabilities.

The wheelchairs were presented by Vincent Rapando on behalf of the Manu Chandaria Foundation. DIG Masengeli thanked the foundation for the support and said the equipment would be distributed to officers in different regions to ensure equitable access.

He noted that the initiative would help affected officers carry out their duties more effectively while maintaining dignity.

Senior officers present at the event included Lazarus Opicho, Commandant of the SGB and VIP Protection Unit; Lilian Kanini, Assistant Inspector General and Director of Medical Services; Boniface Mutua, ASP; and Caroline Ndichu, CIP, among others.

The APS said it continues to pursue partnerships aimed at improving the welfare and inclusion of its officers.
