Dr. Fred Matiang’i of Jubilee and his Party of National Unity (PNU) counterpart
Peter Munya have called out President William Ruto over what they said is his
administration’s inability to tame goons.
This after rowdy
youth armed with batons barricaded the road leading to the Maili Tatu Centre
with stones, moments before their convoy made its way to the area, on the
second day of their Meru County tour on Friday.
They accused Meru Governor
Isaac Mutuma of being complicit.
The leader, at the
same time, accused the Head of State of failing to tame corruption during his
four-year tenure.
“Ujinga kama huu
ndio umeturudisha nyuma kama nchi. Eti tuko na viongozi, kazi yao ni fitina,
badala ya kupanga maendeleo ya Wakenya. Sasa wewe kama gavana, unatoa wapi
nafasi ya kupanga mawe njiani na watu hapa maskini wanahitaji huduma yako,” said
Matiang’i.
Munya added: “Kazi
yao ni kupora vitu, kila siku. Sindio? Wametuharibia elimu ambayo ilikuwa
imetengenezwa, ata watoto wa maskini walikuwa wanasoma. Mambo ya afya
wameharibu yote. Ni wizi tu wanafanya. Sindio?”
