Mediheal Group of Hospitals has dismissed recent claims by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, suggesting that President William Ruto was involved in attempts to influence the hospital’s management or capitalise on its financial difficulties.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the hospital emphasised that the recent scaling down of services was purely due to financial constraints and not influenced by political considerations, competitive interests, or actions by any political leader.

“Mediheal remains committed to working closely with its partners, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to stabilize operations and resume full services in due course,” the statement said.

“We respectfully urge all individuals, particularly public leaders, to refrain from associating Mediheal with political narratives that are inaccurate and potentially damaging to its reputation.”

The hospital’s clarification comes in the wake of public statements by Gachagua, who alleged that the head of state was interfering in the operations of key medical facilities in the country, including the Nairobi Hospital, for personal interests
