Led by the chairman of the workers' group, David Ogweno, the workers claimed that the County Government has suspended more than 40 employees, including 12 directors, 20 ward administrators and 8 sub-county administrators.
However, county secretary Oscar Olima denied the claims, saying that no employee had been fired but rather the county transferred some employees as part of efforts to streamline service delivery.
“We have taken into account the labor laws in the transfer of workers,” he said.
However, Mark Ouma, the deputy chairperson of the county workers' group, insisted that there was no basis for the changes.
"This is impunity and we will not allow it to happen," he said.
