Migori: Investigations as teacher's body found in a river

Police in Uriri Sub-County in Migori are investigating the death of a 36-year-old teacher at Chief Kawas Primary School, whose body was found along River Oyani.
Uriri Sub-County Police Commander Bashir Ali said Douglas Okita's body was found in Kajulu Sub-Location on Saturday evening.
Okita was last seen heading home from Kambogo Market on 14th November 2025.
Preliminary investigations suggest he may have drowned while crossing the river.
A postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The body has been moved to Migori Referral Hospital morgue pending further investigations.
