Migori teacher detained over brutal murder of 35-year-old man

A teacher at Senye Primary School in Nyatike, Migori County is in police custody over the mysterious murder of a man aged 35 years.

Confirming the incident Nyatike Sub-county Police Commander Stela Too said the male teacher detained at the Macalder police post has been staying with the deceased, Bob Otieno, in the same house hence he is the first suspect in the murder incident.

Mrs. Too said the teacher is just a suspect adding that the police are still conducting investigations into the matter.

The sub-county police commander said the body of the deceased was found lying on the floor of the house with several deep cuts believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.

Speaking to radio Ramogi the Kibro village elder Mr.Hassan Gombania said the deceased and the teacher have been staying together for a long time .He said they found the body lying on the floor with several deep cuts on the body today morning.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Migori level four hospital mortuary pending police investigation.
