Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has questioned former President Uhuru Kenyatta's political interest in Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, asking why he did not offer him a Jubilee Party ticket if he genuinely supported his presidential ambitions.

Mudavadi challenged Uhuru over what he described as attempts to influence Sifuna's political direction, amid growing debate over the selection of Opposition's flag-bearer ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“If Uhuru was interested in Sifuna, why didn't he give him the Jubilee ticket? Ule mwingine ambaye ni serial liar, kazi yake ni kuambia Sifuna awachane na sehemu hii aenda kwingine. He has already confined Sifuna huko,” Mudavadi said.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary made the remarks while leading Kenya Kwanza allies on a campaign tour of Vihiga, Mumias and Shinyalu, where they drummed up support for President William Ruto's re-election bid.

Addressing members of the clergy at Nyangori PAG Church in Vihiga, Mudavadi also took aim at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, describing him as a serial liar and questioning his political credibility following his impeachment.

Mudavadi also challenged opposition leaders seeking to replace the current administration to explain their agenda and present a clear manifesto to Kenyans.

“Na sisi watu wanatudanganya tuwe watu wa kupiga kelele, slowly what's happening is that they want our eyes to be covered while the economies and hubs go to other nations. Don't let it happen,” he said.

“Wale wengine wakisema wanataka kuja kubomoa, to replace it with what? Where's their manifesto?

"Surely, a manifesto, even in school, can't be described as one-term. It must show the list of programs on what you're going to do for the next five years and where you will get the money."

Mudavadi said Kenya Kwanza was seeking another term for Ruto to ensure continuity of the administration's development agenda.

“That's why we want President Ruto to be re-elected, we want continuity,” he added.
