Murang’a: Man handed life sentence for defiling six-year-old child

A court in Kandara, Murang’a County, has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling a six-year-old child.

The court found that Timothy Mwaura Mweru defiled the child on December 23, 2020, after the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

In sentencing Mweru, Principal Magistrate Eva Wambugu noted that he took away the minor’s innocence and left her with psychological scars.

The accused “was not remorseful even in his mitigation,” the prosecution said.
