Mvurya urges Coast residents to embrace unity, reject divisive politics

Speaking in Kwale County during a consultative meeting with grassroots and community leaders, the Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed the Coast region’s support for President William Ruto, noting that the government remains firmly committed to delivering transformative development across the region.
Mvurya highlighted several ongoing national government projects aimed at improving livelihoods, including infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment programmes, sports facilities, and creative-economy initiatives.
He emphasized that the government’s development agenda is inclusive and deliberately designed to unlock economic opportunities for local communities.
The Cabinet Secretary called on residents to uphold unity, peace, and cohesion, even as the country edges closer to the political season.
He urged leaders and citizens alike to remain focused on progressive economic empowerment and sustainable development, warning that political distractions could undermine hard-won gains.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Mvurya asserted that the Coast region would not be drawn into political confrontations that do not serve its interests. He maintained that leaders from the region remain aligned with the government’s development agenda and will not associate with divisive political forces.
Mvurya was accompanied by Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Matuga Member of Parliament Kassim Tandaza, Kwale Senator Issa Juma Boy, Kinango MP Gonzi Rai, Members of the County Assembly, and community leaders from across Kwale County.
