Currently sitting 10th in the league with 25 points after 17 games, head coach Godfrey Oduor knows that a win is essential to help the team, who are in their first season in the top-tier league, climb the table and regain confidence.

Oduor reflected on the lessons learned from the continental outing, which saw his side exit the group stage without a single win.

“Honestly, playing in the Confederation Cup is a different league and a big experience for all of us. We picked up many lessons, and we plan to apply them to improve our standards locally,” said Oduor ahead of the Bidco clash.

The team is also managing the physical toll of travel, having returned from Lubumbashi after a 12-hour journey, delayed by clearance issues due to aviation workers' strike at JKIA.

“Despite the long trip, our boys are safe and motivated. We expect them to show tomorrow that they can fight for the three points,” the coach added.

With key players like Duncan Omala slightly fatigued, the coach is encouraging younger squad members to step up and fill bigger roles.

“This game is very important. It's about morale, determination, and showing what we've learned,” he said.

Despite the sluggish form recently, Oduor praised his side's overall performance in the league, referring to their current tally of 25 points as one to be proud of following their promotion to the top tier last year.

"Honestly, the boys have really tried getting 25 points in the first leg. Definitely, we are aware that for a team to survive the league in the first half, a team needs to get about 30 points. We are almost there, so we will try, work and add three points to the twenty-five."

A win over Bidco would see Naibois go joint level on points with Tusker and Bandari as they look to reignite their season, while a loss will see the Oilers scrap out of the relegation zone depending on other results around them.

Elsewhere, league leaders Gor Mahia will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the log when they host KCB at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

AFC Leopards, who are nine points behind Gor in second host Posta Rangers Saturday at Nyayo, seeking to cut the deficit to just three points before K’Ogalo’s match.

Leopards are out to dust themselves up following a 0-0 draw to Bandari last time out.

On the other side of the table, Sofapaka's 2-0 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday see them remain rooted to the foot of the league on 14 points.

Kariobangi Sharks will hope to put some daylight between themselves and their relegation rivals as they face Mathare United in a heated Slum Derby that will also stand as an opportunity to get themselves out of the relegation zone.
