Residents of Sun Valley Estate in Langata Constituency in Nairobi have called on the authorities to address the noise pollution in the neighborhood.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, residents said the adjacent entertainment establishments should regulate the noise levels.
“Attempts to discuss the matter with the club owners have been met with arrogance,” Jacktone Ouma, a resident, said.
According to the residents, revelers have turned the neighborhood into a noisy affair, resulting into sleepless nights and community disturbance.
“We have tried our best to talk to them but they always turn us away claiming they have a right to do business. My family cannot sleep soundly due to noise from the clubs,” another resident said.
The residents now fear that this could lead to moral decadence, with their children likely to be the most affected.
They voiced concerns that their once peaceful residential area has morphed into an uncontrollable situation.
“I fear for our children who may be influenced into immorality due to the situation at hand,” another added.
