Speaking to the media at his Eor-Okule home after meeting with his new Senate oversight team Ole Kina alleged that Family Engineering; a Nairobi-based company was awarded a Ksh.1.6 Billion tender to supply earth-moving equipment for Narok County but efforts to stop it were thwarted.
Ledama says he gave Ntutu a 21 day notice to produce all payment records for verification singling out tourism, where he claimed massive drop of International bookings due to increased prices and runaway corruption.
Kina further alleges that the Chief Park Administrator is under strict instructions to physically collect cash for influential individuals, further wondering how 46 camp sites inside the Mara Gem were cleared to operate by an increased charge of $80 for bed and another $200 for park entry, a move the tourism federation says will discourage tourists.
He claimed the greater Mara now has over 5,000 beds yet with all the profit the County Government has not improved in the sector.
Ledama further argued that the situation has left the 117 camp sites owned by locals along the Mara River under a business threat, more so with increased charge fees.
The legislator said such a move without public participation was unfair alleging intimidation by the Governor to the federation of local investors.
On matters education, Ledama alleged that the delayed release of education bursaries has been triggered by unaccounted Ksh.451 million and unpaid dues by the County.
Recent days have seen various analysts rate Narok County among the best countrywide in development and service delivery.
