Incumbent Lang'ata MP Nixon Korir has conceded defeat in the Lang'ata constituency race.

The legislator, who was seeking to retain his seat under a UDA ticket conceded to his main rival Felix Odiwor alias Jalango who was running under an ODM ticket.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Korir attributed his surrender to results found in their personal tallies, which he said showed that Jalang'o was taking a dominant lead.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has however not announced the constituency's final results.

The legislator thanked his supporters and the people of Lang'ata who "gave me an avenue to contribute to the people" and further congratulated his competitor for the win.

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate his as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata," Korir wrote on Facebook.

"To the people of Langata, I  sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. It's been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation building and service to the people."

Korir was competing against ODM’s Jalang’o, Caroline Jepkemboi of Usawa kwa Wote party, Thomas Awili (Independent), KANU’s Osman Abdulahi, Cliff Aboki (Ford Asili) and Susan Odongo (Independent).
