Fortune suffered a narrow 2-1 loss against 3K in their previous league outing, a result that denied them a chance to strengthen their push up the standings.
The team is now focused on correcting the mistakes that cost them valuable points ahead of the crucial encounter against Talanta.
Speaking to Citizen Digital ahead of the match, Fortune head coach Vincent Nyaberi admitted that his side needs to improve defensively, particularly in goalkeeping and organization at the back.
Nyaberi stressed that his players must stay alert throughout the match to avoid repeating the costly errors witnessed in the defeat against 3K.
"We lost to 3K because of poor communication in the goalkeeping and defence departments.
"We have to correct that in training heading into the next fixture," he said.
Although Fortune secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Talanta during the first leg meeting, Nyaberi believes the upcoming fixture will present a different challenge altogether.
The tactician noted that Talanta head into the clash full of confidence after registering an impressive 3-0 win against league heavyweights Mombasa United in their last match.
He has therefore urged his players not to underestimate their opponents.
"They are not having a bad run, we beat them 3-1 in the first-leg encounter, but considering they beat Mombasa United 3-1, a team chasing promotion, means we have to come prepared. They understand themselves." Nyaberi said.
Fortune Sacco currently occupy sixth place on the NSL table with 54 points, while Talanta sit ninth with 45 points.
The weekend fixture is expected to be highly competitive as both sides look to strengthen their positions in the league standings.
