National Super League 3K FC have installed former Fortune Sacco head coach Nicholas Omasete as interim head coach. Omasete takes charge with immediate effect as the club seeks to arrest its slide and inject fresh energy into the squad.
Omasete takes over following the suspension of Francis Chege
who served as the immediate former head coach, alongside the entire technical
bench.
They were sent packing following a prolonged run of poor
results that has left the Embu-based club winless since the start of the year.
The decision comes after a difficult sequence of matches
that has tested the club’s ambitions and patience. Since the turn of the year,
3K FC have struggled to find consistency, suffering a narrow 1–0 away defeat to
promotion-chasing MOFA FC, settling for a 1–1 draw against Nairobi City Stars,
and falling 1–0 to Fortune Sacco. The results have stalled momentum and raised
concerns within the club’s hierarchy.
The appointment hands Omasete a challenging task, with the
team needing an urgent turnaround to revive their National Super League
campaign and remain competitive in the push towards the 2027 season objectives.
On Saturday evening, the club’s Board of Management
confirmed the sweeping changes in an official statement, describing the move as
necessary in the interest of the club’s long-term objectives.
“The 3K FC Management Board wishes to inform our
stakeholders, sponsors, fans, and all supporters of the club that, following
careful deliberations and in consideration of the club’s long-term interests, a
decision has been made to relieve and suspend the entire technical bench of
their duties,” the statement read in part.
Despite the firm action, the club struck a respectful tone,
thanking the outgoing technical team for their commitment and contribution. The
board noted that while their efforts were appreciated, final decisions
regarding their positions would be made after a detailed review process.
