With Pixie farming gaining momentum in the country, the fruit has become a natural pick for many.

Children have fallen in love with it, owing to its natural sweetness and refreshing tart flavor.

Sold in pockets from Ksh.100 to Ksh.350 based on the location, it is safe to say that the fruit has picked up pace faster than any other.

The boom is owed to its profitability, with traders reaping big following a relatively high demand for the juicy fruits.

"My children enjoy these fruits. It has since replaced some of the snacks they used to carry to school with them," Joy Aluoch told Citizen Digital.

According to experts, the fruit is an excellent source of vitamin C and helps strengthen the immune system.
