Police arrest suspected bhang peddler and 4 others in Kisumu

Police in Kisumu Central Constituency have arrested a suspected bhang peddler, along with four individuals caught smoking the illicit substance.

The operation, conducted by officers on patrol, led to the arrest of Anthony Omondi Ouma, who was found in possession of 200 sticks of bhang. The four other suspects were apprehended while smoking bhang within the Central Business District.

Ouma is set to be arraigned on Friday for possession of narcotic drugs, while the four others will face charges related to smoking bhang.

The arrests come amid heightened efforts by Kisumu police to curb the circulation of illicit alcohol and drugs, following a national crackdown spearheaded by President William Ruto.
