Police officers in Nairobi arrested suspects repackaging fertilizer intended for the government subsidy program along Nanyuki road in Lunga Lunga Nairobi.

According to regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei, the police received a tip and acted quickly.

During a raid at a godown where the operations were being carried out, the police discovered that the team was also repackaging relief food to Indian brands.

According to the police commander, they seized 1360 bags of rice and 200 bags of maize that were being repackaged.

During the operation, 50,000 bags of subsidy fertilizer were also seized.

During a media interview, the regional commander issued a warning to anyone involved in such criminal activity.

According to Bungei, DCI officers will investigate the case alongside local police to uncover the entire syndicate.

Four suspects have been arrested and will be arraigned in court once the investigations are completed.
