According to the pathologist’s report, the cause of death was linked to soft tissue injuries, which led to complications including kidney failure.
Nyaga’s body was discovered in Mugumo-ini village near the Nyamindi River. Police have identified a person of interest in the case, and investigations are ongoing.
The post-mortem was conducted at Kibugi Funeral Home in the presence of family members and representatives from the education sector.
Kirinyaga County Police Commander Mohammed Jire confirmed that detectives from Wang’uru Police Station are pursuing leads to locate and apprehend the suspect.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and allow investigations to proceed, following an incident in which a house linked to the person of interest was set on fire.
Nyaga is survived by a young child. Burial arrangements are scheduled to take place at her family home in Mugumo-ini village.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has appealed to members of the public to share any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
