Police in Kayole are investigating the death of a 19-year-old woman who fell from the fifth floor of an apartment block in Kamatuto Estate.

Bellacah Wambui Kamau, who was married to Antony Njoroge, died after falling from Dan's Apartments. Officers are treating the matter as a homicide inquiry as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fall.

The landlord and caretakers at the property told the media that Wambui's family had been embroiled in domestic wrangles, adding that she had previously threatened to take her own life.

According to their account, Wambui returned to the house on Saturday after spending more than a month at her parents' home, only to find that her husband had taken another wife in her absence.

It remains unclear what transpired in the lead-up to the fatal fall. Neighbours, however, recounted a dramatic confrontation at the house on the day of the incident, raising questions over whether the deceased fell or was pushed.

Her mother and other relatives, still coming to terms with the loss, showed Citizen Digital the newborn clothes Wambui had bought in anticipation of her baby. She was more than four months pregnant at the time of her death.

The family has appealed to investigators to leave no stone unturned in establishing what happened and delivering justice for Wambui.
