Probe starts after Kerugoya nurse was found dead inside her bathroom

A nurse in Kirinyaga County has committed suicide inside her bathroom at Miringa-iri estate in Kerugoya, leaving the entire estate in shock.

The 54-year-old nurse was an employee of the county government, working at Kerugoya Hospital.

According to Kirinyaga Central Sub-county Deputy county commissioner Daniel Ndege, Monicah Muthoni appeared to have hung herself with her work uniform.

“She has not left any suicide note for her husband or her children,” Ndege said

Ndege said the deceased had left Kerugoya hospital on Tuesday at 4pm and later prepared supper for the family before committing suicide

‘We are investigating what exactly caused her death,we are waiting for postmortem results ‘ Ndege added.
