Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, on Monday chaired a consultative meeting with the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Pending Bills Verification Committee to review verified bills inherited from the former National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) following the transition to SHA.

The meeting focused on establishing structured, transparent, and accountable mechanisms for clearing verified obligations.

Officials noted that this step is crucial for safeguarding the continuity of health services and enhancing public financial management within the health sector.

Dr. Oluga emphasized the importance of systematic verification and timely settlement of pending bills to ensure that health service delivery is not disrupted during the transition to the new regulatory framework under SHA.

The consultative session also highlighted the need for ongoing collaboration between government agencies to ensure accountability and transparency in managing financial obligations within the health sector.
