Relief as petrol, diesel, kerosene prices remain unchanged in latest EPRA review

This means, in Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will continue retailing at Ksh.178.28, while diesel will sell at Ksh. 166.54 and Kerosene at Ksh. 152.78 effective midnight for the next 30 days.

In Mombasa, the cost will remain at Ksh.175.00, Ksh.163.26 and Ksh.149.49 for super petrol, diesel and kerosene, respectively.

In Nakuru, Super Petrol will go for Ksh.177.34, Diesel (Ksh.165.95), and Kerosene (Ksh.152.21).

At the same time, customers in Kisumu will buy a litre of super petrol at Ksh.178.16, diesel at Ksh.166.76 and kerosene at Ksh.153.03.

"The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020," EPRA stated.

Last month, Super petrol, diesel and kerosene prices went down by Ksh.4.20, Ksh.3.90 and Ksh.1.00 per litre and there have been claims that the prices would go up due to the ongoing Israel-Iran war.

EPRA, in its review, clarified that the prices have not been affected by the war since the country already has oil reserves imported before the war started last month.

“The Authority has considered vessels that were received and discharged between February 10, 2026 and March 9, 2026. Most of these vessels are February-priced cargoes and the effect of the situation in the Middle East has not had an effect on the prices yet,” EPRA noted.
