The fully operational hospital now offers a wide range of services, including inpatient and outpatient care, emergency and critical care, diagnostics, maternal and child health services, and surgical procedures.
The government invested Ksh. 600 million to equip the facility with modern infrastructure and expand its bed capacity, positioning it as a major healthcare hub for the northern region. Plans are already underway to introduce additional specialised services, including establishing an oxygen plant, a dedicated maternity wing, and enhanced emergency response capabilities.
Speaking during the commissioning, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi lauded the Kenya–USA health cooperation agreement, dismissing criticism from civil society and opposition figures as “misleading propaganda.”
On her part, Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya praised the Kenya Defence Forces for their role in constructing the facility, noting that their efficiency and expertise had been instrumental in delivering the project.
