Residents decry lack of water supply in Kaloleni, Kilifi County

Residents of Birini Makululu in Kaloleni constituency, Kilifi County, have decried lack of water supply.

The residents have appealed to Governor Gideon Mungaro to intervene and renovate the local water well, which is their main source of water.

Led by Neema Baya, the residents say they are struggling to find this vital resource, often spending over two hours searching for water only to return empty-handed.

They have stated that although the well is relied upon by both humans and livestock.

The ravaging drought across the coastal region has caused water levels to dry up.

The residents are now at a crossroads, amid fears of increased health risks due to the worsening water scarcity.
