The newly elected Anglican Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has today (Sunday) been enthroned as the 6th Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya in a ceremony held at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.

In a colourful ceremony attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto and by over 5,000 people including several religious and political leaders made Sapit the 4th Archbishop of All Saints Cathedral.

Archbishop Eliud Wabukala handed over power to incoming Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit where he gave him the cross which is a sign of authority, the staff which is a sign of leadership and the Bible and prayer book to continue proclaiming the word of God.

Ole Sapit was elected the 6th head of ACK to replace retiring Archbishop Eliud Wabukala after beating five other heads of Diocese who were also in the race to replace him (Wabukala).

The ACK Electoral College of 196 delegates elected Ole Sapit in an election conducted at the All Saints’ Cathedral, in Nairobi.
