Speaking during the launch of Rironi-Mau summit road, Ruto stated that all the 7 parliamentary seats were won by candidates aligned with the broad-based government, terming that as a message from the voters to the opposition.
He accused the opposition of lacking a substantive agenda and spreading politics of hate and personal attacks.
"Nyinyi watu wa chuki, watu wa ukabila, nyinyi ambao mnaendesha sijui wantam, Kasongo na must-go. Hiyo si sera, tafuteni sera. Na niliwaambia wasipotafuta sera watachelewa," Ruto stated.
"Nishawaambia majamaa, wakiendelea na hii, tutawazamisha asubuhi na mapema."
The ruling party emerged victorious in four constituencies during the by-elections, comprising Leo Wamuthende (Mbeere North), David Athman (Malava) and Ahmed Hassan (Banissa). Kiprono Chemitei also clinched the Baringo senatorial seat.
As part of the broad-based government, the Orange Democratic Movement candidates won three parliamentary seats: Boyd Were (Kasipul), Moses Omondi (Ugunja) and Harrison Kombe (Magarini).
The Head of State further congratulated the UDA and ODM candidates on his post on X.
“Your victory is a powerful reminder to us that we are bigger and better as a country when we are united.”
