Ruto condoles with President Suluhu after her husband's death

President William Ruto has sent his condolences to the president of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan, which occurred this morning.
In a message shared on his X account on Monday, 7, 2026, Ruto assured that Kenya stands with Tanzania during this moment of grief.
“ On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, the First Lady, my family and on my own behalf, I convey our heartfelt condolences to President Samia, her family and the people of Tanzania. President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son, ” Ruto wrote.
The news of Hassan’s passing was shared by Tanzania’s Deputy President Deogratius Ndejembi.
Hassan died on Monday 8.00 am while receiving treatment at Emilio Mzena Memorial Hospital for a heart condition.
