The country is likely to be informed of changes in school reopening dates following a stakeholders meeting convened by Education CS Prof. George Magoha this Monday.

The meeting will largely address the confusion that has surrounded resumption of learning in the country, six months after schools were closed to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

In a letter dated September 7th 2020, Professor Magoha has invited all education stakeholders in the country to a special National conference to chart Kenya’s post COVID-19 future in education and specifically address school reopening.

Citizen TV has learnt that top of Monday’s stakeholder’s meeting is allowing KCPE and KCSE exams candidates to report back to school with the intention of winding up the syllabus and sitting national exams in January next year.

All universities and colleges are also likely to be reopened for oncampus learning as was the case before.

Sunday marked the 10th straight day of a positivity rate that is under 5% with ministry of health officials having said that 14 straight days would indicate a flattening of the curve.
