Sidian Bank has announced a Ksh 2 million sponsorship for the 5th Annual Leaders’ Summit organised by the Kenya Teachers SACCOs Association (KETSA), reaffirming its focus on strategic partnerships with Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to expand financial inclusion.

The summit, scheduled for 23rd to 27th February 2026 in Kisumu, will convene SACCO leaders from across Kenya for discussions on governance, capacity building, and strategic growth.

Speaking on the sponsorship, Sidian Bank Chief Executive Officer Chege Thumbi said that alliances with SACCOs have helped the bank grow its customer base and unlock new business opportunities. “SACCOs and cooperatives remain central to our long-term strategy as we work to deliver financial solutions that meet the needs of members and communities,” Thumbi said.

The bank’s support for the summit will also allow it to engage directly with SACCO decision-makers and increase brand visibility among a targeted audience.

Robert Gikanju, Chairman of KETSA, highlighted the importance of collaboration between SACCOs and financial institutions. “Partnerships with banks provide impetus for growth, innovation, and digital transformation within the cooperative sector,” he said, adding that stronger private-sector collaboration is needed to advance sustainable development across the country’s SACCOs.
