Kenya Kwanza leaders have urged Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join the government side following his hostile reception during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement on Friday.

Led by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, the leaders said the incident showed that Kalonzo was no longer welcome within the opposition ranks and urged him to seek greater political respect.

During a tour of Narok County, where Kenya Kwanza leaders gathered for a women's empowerment event, the 2027 succession debate took centre stage, with the leaders using the opportunity to speak in support of the Wiper boss.

If you think Sifuna will support you, ni uwongo,” said Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse on his part, said, "Jana tumeona maneno ya aibu sana.

The leaders also took aim at opposition figures, accusing them of failing to agree on a single presidential candidate despite the narrowing campaign period ahead of the 2027 General Election.

They maintained that President William Ruto remained firmly on course for a second term.

In Vihiga County, Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli dismissed the presidential ambitions of Linda Mwananchi Movement leader Edwin Sifuna. Atwoli spoke during the burial of a COTU employee.

"Huyu mtoto akiangalia nyuma hawezi jua mvua ikikuja na unasema mtoto ametosha, huyu mtoto ametumwa na nani?” Atwoli posed.

In Siaya, Internal Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo used a development tour to defend President Ruto's administration, saying ongoing government programmes were already delivering benefits to residents.

"Mambo ya usalama kwenye ziwa, ya vile tunasaidiana kupanua uvuvi, na kushughulikia tatizo la boundaries kati yetu na nchi jirani ya Uganda,” said the PS.
