Six-year-old pupil dies after being struck by lightning in Kilifi

A six-year-old primary school pupil from Magarini Constituency, Kilifi County, has died after being struck by lightning, while the student's grandfather was seriously injured.

According to health officer Michael Katana, the incident occurred while the young boy was resting under a tree with his grandfather.

Katana states that the child lost his life while receiving treatment at Ramada Hospital.

Meanwhile, Salim Kombe, the grandfather of the student who was seriously injured in the waist area, said that he had just come from the farm before the incident occurred while he was resting under the same tree.

The student’s burial is scheduled to take place on Friday this week.
