Skyward Airlines unveils scheduled flights to Vipingo Ridge

The new route marks a significant milestone in regional aviation and positions Vipingo Ridge as a premier air access gateway to Kenya's North Coast.

The inaugural service is designed to deliver seamless, time-efficient connectivity for residents, business travellers and leisure guests, while unlocking direct access to key coastal destinations including Shanzu, Kilifi, Watamu and Malindi.

By leveraging Vipingo Ridge's strategic location, the service offers a refined alternative to traditional coastal entry points, bringing travellers closer to where they want to be-faster and more comfortably.

Speaking during the partnership signing, Skyward Airlines General Manager, Diana Nyambura, noted that the route reflects Skyward's continued focus on purposeful network expansion and customer-led growth.

"This partnership goes beyond launching a new destination-it is about reshaping how travellers access the North Coast, " said Ms. Nyambura. "Vipingo Ridge offers a uniquely positioned airstrip that allows us to serve both an exclusive residential community and the wider coastal ecosystem,” she added.

Over the past few years, Skyward Airlines has steadily expanded its operations across Kenya, investing in a modern fleet, strengthening schedule reliability, and enhancing customer experience.

According to the airline, Vipingo Ridge reinforces its vision as a world-class, integrated destination that blends residential living, championship golf, sport, culture and tourism. Vipingo Ridge CEO, Alex Horsey, described the new service as a natural progression in the Ridge's evolution. "Air connectivity is a powerful enabler of growth," said Mr. Horsey.

Horsey added that the new route strengthens Vipingo Ridge's role as a regional hub for tourism, sport and business, while supporting broader economic and cultural integration along the coast.

The new route also fills a long-standing connectivity gap between Mombasa and the South Coast.
