Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has directed that all “noisy” night clubs, bars and social joints in Nairobi estates closed until the ongoing KCPE and KCSE exams are done.
In a statement to newsrooms, Governor Sonko further tasked the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and security agencies to enforce the order.
“Governor Sonko has directed the National Environment Management Authority, the Nairobi County Liquor Control Board and security agencies to ensure that the noise in estate is minimised,” reads the statement.
Sonko says that this will allow Class Eight and Form Four candidates to prepare well for their examinations.
