A 26-year-old man believed to be behind a string of robberies in Rweno and Kiambaa areas in Kiambu County has been arrested.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Stephen Igogo Kariuki, was cornered by Kiambaa Sub-County officers following a tip-off from members of the public.
Upon his arrest, he led officers to his house where a thorough search led to the recovery of a Retay falcon pistol, suspected to have used in recent violent robberies.
"The seized weapon has since been forwarded to the National Forensic Laboratory for ballistic analysis to complement the ongoing investigations," DCI noted.
Kariuki will remain in custody pending arraignment.
