Suspected crypto scammer arrested after conning Kilifi woman Ksh.3.9M
Suspected notorious cryptocurrency swindler Bavon Onyancha Masese, following his arrest.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
have arrested a suspected notorious cryptocurrency swindler.
The suspect, identified as Bavon Onyancha Masese, was nabbed
in Kiamunyi area, Nakuru County, following an intensified manhunt by Kilifi
North detectives.
Masese, who has also been operating under the aliases Abdirahaman
Abdikarim and Jamie Damon, is accused of conning a Kilifi woman Ksh.3.9 million.
“This
revelation immediately put him on the detectives' radar, with the seasoned
gumshoes trailing the perpetrator, effectively halting his scamming streak,”
the DCI said in a statement.
“Further
investigations linked Bavon to multiple digital transactions and unlawful
cryptocurrency operations used to defraud victims across the country, leading
to his prosecution at the Kilifi Law Courts.”
Masese will now face multiple charges including money
laundering, unauthorised registration of SIM cards, obtaining money by false
pretence, and conspiracy to defraud.
