A man was on Tuesday arrested in the Classic area near Nyeri town, Nyeri County carrying a human skull.

Police say members of the public arrested Joseph Maina on suspicion that he attempted to steal from a nearby residential premise on the outskirts of Nyeri town.

“Upon search on his assorted items, a human skull was found therein,” read a police report.

Police interrogated Mwangi, who is said to be about 20 years old, and he led them to a Napier grass farm about half a kilometre from Nyeri police station.

“A search was conducted and decomposing human body parts of an unknown African of unknown sex and age were recovered,” adds the report.

The body parts were taken to Nyeri mortuary for identification and post-mortem as detectives began a probe into the case.
