Otieno is currently the league’s leading scorer with 11 goals, a remarkable return that has played a key role in Migori Youth’s rise to the top of the standings. With the business end of the season approaching, the prolific striker believes there is still more to come from him.
Beyond his short-term objective, the striker is dreaming even bigger.
He has revealed that he is targeting more than 20 goals by the end of the campaign, a feat that would see him break existing scoring records in the division and further underline his status as one of the league’s most lethal attackers.
"My target is to score more goals in the second leg and set a new goal scoring record. I intend to score at least 15 more goals heading into the second leg," the forward said.
Otieno, however, was quick to credit his teammates for his success in front of goal, insisting that his achievements are the product of collective effort rather than individual brilliance.
The ambitious forward also shared his long-term dream of playing at the highest level of world football, expressing confidence that one day he could earn a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
"I owe it to my teammates, it's them that have made me be where I am today. They know my style of play, and so it's easy for them to set me up for goals. My dream is to play in Europe, particularly Real Madrid," he said.
Syphas’ goals have been central to Migori Youth’s impressive campaign so far, with the club sitting top of the NSL table and firmly in the race for promotion.
As the second half of the season begins, both the player and the club will be hoping his scoring form continues to drive them closer to their ultimate objectives.
