Tension in Embu after preacher prophesies death of three

Residents of Riamaciri Village in Embu County were treated to dramatic scenes after a prophecy by a local preacher warning of a fatal road crash sparked fear, debate and a brief confrontation.

The incident unfolded after Apostle John Robert of Power of God Church Prophetic Ministry publicly claimed that a road accident along the Riamaciri route would claim the lives of three people.

His remarks angered a section of boda boda riders, who accused him of spreading fear and misleading the public through alarming predictions.

The riders confronted the preacher, with some attempting to chase him away, arguing that such pronouncements could cause unnecessary panic among motorists, passengers and residents.

The situation, however, took a different turn when another group of villagers intervened and shielded the preacher from the agitated riders.

They argued that he should be allowed to complete his message before anyone passed judgment on its contents.

The confrontation briefly disrupted normal activities in the village as curious residents gathered to witness the unfolding events before elders and other local leaders stepped in to restore calm.

The incident has since reignited debate within the community over prophecy, faith and superstition.

Some residents linked the latest prophecy to an earlier incident in which another preacher is said to have visited the same village and predicted the death of a resident.

According to locals, the individual later died, a sequence of events that has led some members of the community to treat similar prophetic messages with caution.

Others, however, dismissed the claims, saying such incidents should not be viewed as proof of supernatural foresight.

The latest prophecy has since become a major talking point in Riamaciri Village, dividing opinion between those who view it as a divine warning calling for prayer and vigilance, and those who believe it amounts to fearmongering that could create unnecessary anxiety.

As the debate continues, local leaders have urged residents to remain calm, avoid speculation, exercise caution on the roads and refrain from taking the law into their own hands when confronted with controversial religious messages.
