President William Ruto has said Northern Kenya is where the
future of agriculture lies.
He said the tarmacking of the Isiolo–Mandera and
Isiolo–Garissa–Lamu roads will open up the region.
“It will also actualise our vision of being a food-secure
country in the long-run,” he noted.
He was speaking in Garbatulla on Wednesday during the
inspection of the 750 Kilometre Isiolo–Mandera road.
The road is part of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development
Project, which is connecting and opening up Northern Kenya.
President Ruto explained that the project is now 45 per cent
complete.
“We will keep building more roads across the country,
connecting every part of Kenya and fully harnessing our potential,” he added.
The President was accompanied by Deputy President Kithure
Kindiki.
